The Middle Ages left many traces of its history, in particular the foundation of bastides (or new towns) mainly built during the second half of the 13th century. (Gimont, Saint-Sauvy, Villefranche d'Astarac, Aurimont) and Sauvetés (such as Simorre). Villages full of charm, with perpendicular streets, with their squares, covered markets, narrow streets, half-timbered houses... and which for the most part, have retained all their character and authenticity.
