This loop that connects the village of Saramon to that of Boulaur allows you to enjoy the hilly landscapes of the Gers and discover in particular the lake (leisure center open in summer) of Saramon and the Cistercian abbey of Boulaur.
The trail description is for sale at the Tourist Office Coteaux Arrats Gimone (Gimont and Simorre).
From the Saramon leisure centre (parking on site), follow the PR2 signposting that goes around the lake.
1. Turn left towards Saramon. Turn right onto the lake right hand, go around it. After the overfill, turn left and cross the Gimone on a footbridge. Turn left and follow the river. At the lock, go right then left and join a path, take it on the right.
2. Arrive at a small road, turn left. Cross the crossroads (D 626) and continue straight ahead for 200 m. Go right on a dirt road until you reach a road. Go left until you turn 90°.
3. Leave the road and continue straight ahead between farm buildings. Go down the dirt road and join a road. Turn right. At the crossing, go left (view of the abbey). Get to D626 (danger), turn left. Join Boulaur and go straight.
4. Pass the marie (Point de départ de Boulaur). 100 m after take a path to the left that goes down.
5. At a fork, continue left and join a road. Go right until the place called "the old tuilerie". Turn left onto the dirt road leading to a road. Go right for 200 m.
6. Turn left between the farm buildings. Continue on a dirt road. Pass under the castle of Karabé. At the road go left towards Saramon.
7. At the top of the hill, continue right on a street that leads to the village. Go down 2nd street which joins the central square. After the town hall, turn right, pass the church, go up to the right for 10 m on the perpendicular street and enter the stadium. Go around it by the left. At the bottom, take the street that leads to the leisure base and join the parking.
It is also possible to make the loop from the town hall of Boulaur (parking on site or at the entrance of the village). In this case, follow the PR2 markup.
Picnic facilities at the Saramon leisure centre (picnic tables are installed inside the base but also near the small lake prepared for fishing) or at the entrance of the village of Boulaur.
This route marked by the Departmental Committee of Hiking is suitable for hikers, equestrian and mountain bikes and electric bicycles (prohibited to motor vehicles).
