European Heritage Day 32200 Gimont FRANCE

During European Heritage Days, two places that are normally closed to the public will open their doors.

This is the cantonal museum, which will take you on a journey through the ages. It invites you to discover its rich and varied collections, tracing several major periods in history: prehistory, the Gallo-Roman era, the Middle Ages, and the Palaeolithic period (fossils). A wonderful opportunity to discover the evolution of civilisations and the natural world through authentic objects and artefacts from the past.

Free admission to the collections. Open on Sunday 21 September from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 5.30pm.

You can also visit the Evesquerie and discover its treasures. The Evesquerie, the bishop's former central residence, bears witness to the history of the Bishopric of Lombez, created in 1317, which stretched from Lombez in the south to Beaumont-de-Lomagne in the north. Today, this site houses an exhibition of various ecclesiastical items, stones from the Cistercian abbey church of Planselve, objects from the church of Saint-Éloi and statues from the chapel of the former Saint Nicolas college, which later became François 1er.

Free admission. Open on Sunday 21 September from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 5.30pm.
