They're back! Exactly ten years ago, Alfie Ryner (and Italian band Underdog) played here... Alfie Ryner is a quintet of musical agitators. Five elegant and venomous individuals who don't hesitate to switch from jazz to punk, groove to bolero, free jazz to tarantella. Without complexes, without labels...
Dressed in white shirts and ties, they come to tell us an epic tale illustrated by music that is sometimes nervous, on a knife edge, sometimes very airy, interspersed with narrative passages. Worthy of a film soundtrack, their music shifts from a calm and timeless atmosphere to a Zornian post-punk mess, to chaotic and explosive rock. It's jazz, undeniably, but trashy, energetic, with a taste for ‘big sound’ and something mocking in both attitude and music.
