Meet on November 8 at the Bouche à Oreille, to discover the group Dunes.
This atypical and open trio – without a bass – was born informally during sessions and small concerts given at the Jazz in Marciac festival in 2018. Alchemy operating, Simon Riou, Sylvain Rey and Corto Falempin decided in the spring of 2021 to officially launch DUNES.
The trio is a double winner of the regional springboard Jazz70 2022 by winning the jury prize and the audience award. Colorist trio, facetious and contemplative, DUNES offers a music between jazz, noise and pop, where improvisation holds a central place. Compositions, standards and contemporary music are given the floor in pieces with multiple characters. Surreal and dreamlike, sometimes ethereal and melancholic, sometimes angular and overexcited, DUNES depicts imaginary landscapes that invite introspection.
The sound approach of the ensemble (piano/saxophone/drums) evokes the acoustic sound of European jazz and is enriched by a work on timbres and extended techniques allowing a wide range of expression to this singular and endearing trio. In search of an aesthetic of the moment, without neglecting the importance of melody and lyricism, DUNES explores and amuse itself around beauty, form and memory.
It will also be possible to dine on site before the concert from 7:30 PM. It is strongly recommended to book online for the meal.
