The Marché au Gras, also called 'La Grasse Matinée', is the event not to be missed in Gimont! They take place from the end of October to the end of March each year.
Every Sunday morning at 10am, the fat market starts. Carcasses and foie gras are waiting for you.
The Gras hall welcomes you during the winter period from late October to late March. Local producers come specially to sell you duck and goose. All the products sold are fresh and of quality.
Be ready! At 10 o'clock, at the whistle, it’s up to you to play! Find your merchandise, discuss and negotiate with the producer... The exceptional dish is yours! You will also find a goose producer, a rarer product with a fine taste, available in smaller quantities.
Every Sunday morning, in parallel with the duck producers, you can circulate through the stands of the small farmers' market, also present under the hall. Charcuterie, beans, honey, local wines are to be tasted all morning!
The Tourist Office, also on site, will be happy to present you the activities, places and tips to discover. He will also be able to direct you to the restaurants open on Sunday noon in our territory.
For any culinary advice, at the stand of 'La Marmite', chef Fagedet will give cooking demonstrations as well as tastings. Friends cooks, you can discover and learn the tricks to make your homemade foie gras!
Notice to cooks and cooks, a cutting service is offered on Sunday morning under the Hall. They offer you voluntarily to cut your carcass by separating the breast, the neck, the needles... This will make transport easier for you and save time in the kitchen.
During the holiday season, you can also find the festive Volailles and the Christmas market in the Halle.
